5 Romantic Napa Valley Elopement Packages
Plan Your Elope Wedding in California's Scenic Wine Country
Galileo Galilei is quoted as saying “Wine is sunlight held together by water.” For those of us who agree with the famous scientist, few places evoke romance the way Napa does. There’s just something about row upon row of vines bursting with grapes that will soon become world-class wine.
Here's 5 romantic Napa Valley elopement packages that we think will convince you that a California Wine Country destination elopement is an excellent choice.

You do not have to be a resident of California to apply for a marriage licence there. You must both apply in person with valid photo identification (note: some counties require a birth certificate) You’ll also need to know the city and state where your parents were born and the names of your parents, including your mother’s maiden name.
If previously married, you must show proof of divorce (along with a copy of your final divorce decree if you have been divorced recently—this varies by county),death or annulment.
No blood tests are required and there is no waiting period, however the licence is valid for 90 days only. If you wait longer than 3 months, you must apply and pay for a new licence.
Cost varies from county to county, but is generally between $45 and $100. Some areas only accept cash, so be prepared.
If either party is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must appear with the couple when they apply for the marriage licence. Certified copies of birth certificates will be required. Additionally, the couple must make an appointment to see a counselor and appear before a Superior court judge.
Marriage to a first cousin is allowed in the State of California. At the time of writing, the situation regarding same-sex marriage is not clear, so check with marriage officials for updates.
The officiate at your ceremony may be a member of the clergy, Justices, Judges, Magistrates or Marriage Commissioners.
To receive a copy of the marriage license, you must contact the County Recorder’s Office of the county in which you were married.
