Romantic Places to Elope in Rhode Island

Rhode Island, the smallest of the American states is not an island at all, although it does have islands within its borders. What it does have is many ideal places for a memorable elopement wedding near the ocean.

After your wedding, you can honeymoon by exploring the heritage or nature trails, relaxing on the beach, or visiting the galleries and museums or check out the performing arts.  Popular destinations include Providence, Newport and Warwick, but there are lots of other interesting and romantic locations to visit.

Let's look at some very romantic destinations and packages to help you elope in Rhode Island...

Elope in Rhode Island at the Blueberry Cove Inn

The Blueberry Cove Inn - located in Narragansett, a small beach community with a rich history and several popular beaches.  The inn was built in the 1870s and has only 7 guest rooms, plus 2 whirlpool suites.  It’s close to the beach and restaurants and offers a full hot breakfast each morning in the cheery dining room.  This B&B is open year ‘round and many couples find the quieter fall and winter months an appealing time to visit.

To elope at Blueberry Cove, you can make arrangements for a private ceremony (your choice of location: beach, cliffs overlooking the lighthouse or indoors) with officiant, bouquet, wedding cake and champagne plus a one-night stay in the Whirlpool Suite (breakfast included) for only $500.

Two guests may attend your ceremony if you wish.

Laughlin, NV Elope Weddings

Villa One Twenty's Newport, Rhode Island Elopement Packages - check out this luxury seaside B&B located in Newport, the “City by the Sea.” Originally built in 1856, the mansion is a registered historic inn that is open year ‘round. Each of its six guest rooms has a fireplace and nice little touches like a wedding dress steamer to make you comfortable and put you at ease.

There are three elopement packages available at Villa 120, depending on how much time you need (up to three hours) and how many guests you would like to include (up to 12 additional people)

The basic package is $1300 for just the two of you.  You will receive a customized bouquet and boutonniere, have an on-site ceremony conducted by their officiant, sip champagne and have an hour with the photographer.  You also get nightly turn-down service and a gourmet breakfast-in-bed.  The ceremony can be held outdoors in the gardens or inside the beautifully appointed mansion.

Rhode Island Honeymoon Inn

The Attwater - This boutique inn could be the most romantic small hotel in all of Rhode Island. Nestled away in a quiet location in the historic center of Newport, the Attwater's luxury amenities include in-room iPads and Apple TV, robes, gas fireplaces and an in-house cappuccino bar. (22 Liberty St, Newport RI)

Get Married at the Hotel Viking

Elope at the Hotel Viking in Historic Newport, RI - open since 1926, this boutique luxury accommodation is a member of the Historic Hotels of America.  It’s a colonial Georgian building with brick façade and rooms decorated to mimic the historic mansions of Newport.

The I Do For Two elopement Package at Hotel Viking is about $2900, which the hotel website points out is 1/10 of the cost of the average wedding these days.  You’ll get two night’s accommodation in one of the luxurious suites where you can celebrate with champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries.  Prepare for the big event with a couple’s massage in the spa and let yourself be spoiled with breakfast in bed.  A Justice of the Peace will be arranged for your private ceremony at the 1869 chapel on site, and you will then feast on a gourmet wedding dinner and wine for two at One Bellevue Restaurant.

The hotel’s convenient location on Bellevue Avenue assures access to the Newport Harbor and Waterfront, which makes for fantastic wedding photos, and a lot of fun.  You are also close to great galleries, antique shops, and museums.  A truly perfect setting for a romantic elopement in Rhode Island.
